Literature and knowledge foundation

By

The project is supported by a literature review which examines areas of intersection and divergence between public relations and management over the last 120 years.

It covers the following areas:

  • The definition and scope of public relations as a practice
  • Characterising public relations practice
  • Worldviews and critical perspectives of public relations
  • The evolving role of management
  • Public relations and the management role
  • Excellence as a management and a public relations concept

This has led to a series of working hypothesises and research questions that are being tested through data collection.

This document sets out the rationale for the practitioner survey instrument and the literature that forms the basis for the knowledge for each question.
